Guess who’s the LAIFFA Best Woman Filmmaker?
I have some exciting news I wanted to share with you!
This morning I woke up to find out that my new short film Year One had not only been selected to be part of the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival Awards, but that I won for "Best Woman Filmmaker."
I’m so honored to have been chosen to be part of this incredible festival, and I’m looking forward to attending the awards ceremony and walking the red carpet in a (hopefully) post-COVID-19 world in August 2021.
I’d love to acknowledge my incredible team- my production partner and co-writer of the film Diana Matthews, our Director of Photography Mary Perrino, our Executive Producer Tracy Chadwell, our composer Sal Mastrocola, our audio team at Full English Post, and our Associate Producer Tyler Bagwell.
The past few weeks I’ve been house hunting and taking some time off to reboot after such an intense post-production schedule to finish the film. I’ve been going to bed early, watching the new season of The Crown, and enjoying the freshly fallen snow here in Buffalo, NY (my new home).
I’ve also been getting quiet to think about the best way to share this film, who it’s for, and how it can best serve it’s audience. While I don’t have the date yet for our digital premiere in 2021 click here to watch a sneak peek of the film, a one minute clip from the first three months postpartum. And be sure to follow me on IG where I’ll be sharing more clips and BTS moments from making the film.
Year One is so much more personal than anything I’ve ever produced before, and when the timing is right it can’t wait to share it with you.
Stay tuned for more!
Xx,
